I write this while wearing a fake tweed cap that makes me look like a character from An American Tail. And it’s all very appropriate because A) I’m not feeling well and my hair is looking worse than I feel, and B) NeighborhoodNotes.com published my story today about Portland hatmakers. It turns out this city has a solid community of newish designers who like to up-cycle old clothing into beautiful new accessories, along with more experienced designers who are making classic shapes new again. I love hats, I love writing, these designers are amazing, and this story was a lot of fun.
